About

Jason Halstead

Jason Halstead

I usually describe myself as a science fiction and fantasy author who spends his daytime hours in the auto industry as an IT Manager. I’m a family man as well, which means I’ve got the perfect wife and kids, not that I have ties to a major crime organization.

At present I have nineteen books published and available in various formats. I prefer the ebook format myself, and usually I’m doing what I can to promote Amazon’s Kindle because of that (although I have a strong appreciation of the Kobo reader as well).

And yes, there’s always more. I’m a powerlifter. What? Yes, I know, it’s not an often mentioned title. Powerlifting is a flavor of weight lifting that involves picking up heavy weights for a single maximal repetition. The competition is fierce, though often it’s against one’s self.

For the sake of your convenience, the links to my books can be found to the right – just click on the cover!

And please do a writer a favor – if you liked something you read rate it and leave a review, even if it’s only a few short words. It’s not only encouraging to the writer (myself or others), but it also helps make books more successful, which means the writer can spend more time writing and giving you more of what you like!

I welcome feedback as well, feel free to contact me via my website (http://www.booksbyjason.com), hook up with me on Twitter (@booksbyjason), send me an email at jason@booksbyjason.com, or hook up with me on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/booksbyjason).

That’s awesome. I’m glad you were entertained, that’s why I do this. It’s pretty neat that your name is Katie too, but I hope nobody ever tortures you like I did the Katy in this series!

Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it.

Speaking of which, I did just release a new Vitalis novel (#7, Communion), did you get that one too?

I just signed up for your Patreon and unless I figure out how to use it I will probably cancel. I don’t see your books, I saw a list on one blog and it shows up in a pdf file. No big deal but not me favorite way to read. I looked on amazon and even with prime unlimited it wants 4 dollars per book. You mentioned somewhere about just clicking a book here but I get nothing. I see lots of pictures but none of them link anywhere. I’ve read everything on literotica and here I am trying Patreon again. I did it a few years ago with someone else and gave up.
The Patreon page for readers should be easy to use. I prefer to read on kindle but amazon will just charge me for what I thought I was going to get for free here. I am retired and disabled, all I do is read. I read fast and normally read 2-3 books a day. Maybe if someone explained how to use the site it would help. I’m not in any way threatening anyone, just saying as a customer if I cant use the product I’m not going to continue to pay for it and it’s not only my responsibility to learn how to use the product but yours (seller) also.

      Dale,

Thanks for sharing your concerns. I understand where you’re coming from and wouldn’t hold it against you if it turned out to be more trouble than it’s worth to you. With that said, what I do is create a post for each story and attach both an epub and a pdf for the story to that post. Typically one (or both) of those formats will open up in a pdf reader (Adobe acrobat) or a web browser without any hitches. If you’d prefer putting them on your Kindle then things get a little bit more complicated.

It’s been a while since I dug into which ereader supports which format so I’m not sure if Kindle supports those natively or not – if there’s a preferred format that Kindle does support, I’d be happy to work on making and attaching those conversion as well. I do recall Kindle used to be difficult to load custom content onto though – not impossible, just complicated. Any idea if that’s still the case?

Finally, 2 – 3 books a day? Like, full blown 50k+ word novels? If so, WOW. I’m impressed and if you can retain even 10% of that, you need to get yourself on Jeopardy and get ready to break some records!

I hope that offered some help or guidance. If not, let me know and we can discuss further. Might be easier to reach me by email too: jason@booksbyjason.com.

      Thanks,

      Jason

I read fast and retain too much. I can start a book and within minutes know I’ve read it before. Years before. I used to run into that a lot in the paperback days. In the digital age it’s worse. I ended up on your literotica profile and started reading and realized I’d read anything older than 2021. Read the bio and here we are.

FYI. Lots of wording problems in the stories. Then than alot. I hate grammar police and don’t care about.,?!’:;etc. but words matter. When I have to read the sentence a second time to make sure I understand then something is wrong. I got that in every story and probably more than most.

I’m rickydean56 on lit erotica and have posted a few stories. The grammar people are vicious. I screwed up, lay lie laying lying down and wow. I’m just now getting back to trying a new story.
I hope to never have to go through that and only mention errors in the kindest way.
